Thanks to Liam Lawson’s eighth place and Arvid Lindblad’s tenth at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Racing Bulls come away with 5 points and take fifth place in the constructors’ championship.

Disappointed with his qualifying on Saturday, Lawson reacted perfectly in the race by putting his experience to good use.
Lawson best of the rest
After an excellent start, the New Zealander quickly moved into the top 10, ahead of his teammate, before maintaining the status of best driver behind the four leading teams: “It was a good race for us today. The first corner and the first lap were obviously very important after a difficult qualifying. After a good start, we knew the race would be long, but the car was very competitive from start to finish.”
The Racing Bulls driver also praised his team’s work, especially strategically: “A big thank you to the team, who made the right decision with a two-stop strategy. Having both our cars in the points is an excellent way to conclude this first half of the season.”

Lawson believes that this fifth place in the championship reflects the progress made since the start of the year: “Approaching the summer break in fifth place in the constructors’ championship rewards all the work done by the team. I look forward to resting for a few weeks before continuing this momentum at Zandvoort.”
Lindblad frustrated nonetheless
For his part, Arvid Lindblad adopted a one-stop strategy, doing the longest stint of the race on hard tires. Despite his tenth place, the Briton mainly regretted his poor start, which forced him to run behind his teammate: “It’s a good day for the team, but not really for me. It’s frustrating. I was ahead of my teammate on the grid, but he had a better first lap. That’s something I need to analyze to understand what went wrong.”
Despite this disappointment, Lindblad gives a very positive assessment of his first half of the season, both personally and collectively: “I am very satisfied with this first part of the season. I am not happy with my race today, but with some perspective, I am sure that I will mainly remember the progress made over the last few months.”
The Briton also wanted to highlight the performance of the whole team: “The team has done a fantastic job. Placing both cars in the points, climbing back to fifth place in the championship and achieving once again excellent pit stops, it’s a very nice reward. Of course, I could have done better today, but overall, this first half of the season is very encouraging and we approach the summer break at the top of the midfield.”
