After a first day of free practice dominated by Ferrari, the drivers return to the Hungaroring this Saturday for a qualifying session that promises to be particularly competitive.
This session will determine the starting grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix, the eleventh round of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship. As always, drivers will try to secure an ideal position on a circuit where overtaking remains particularly difficult.
Qualifying will take place in the usual three-part format (Q1, Q2, and Q3), spread over a total duration of one hour.
What time do qualifying sessions start?
Qualifying is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM local time, at the Hungaroring circuit, near Budapest.
For French and Belgian viewers, this also corresponds to 4:00 PM, as both countries are in the same time zone as Hungary at this time of year.

The session is therefore expected to end around 5:00 PM, subject to any interruptions caused by a red flag.
Mercedes can continue its streak
This session is particularly important for Mercedes, which has secured all ten pole positions contested since the start of the 2026 F1 season.
George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will try to extend this impressive streak against competition that seems to have significantly closed the gap in Hungary.
Ferrari, very prominent during free practice thanks to Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, appears to be the main rival of the German team, while Red Bull and McLaren also hope to join the fight for the top spots.
