Max Verstappen is actively continuing his preparation for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The four-time world champion will get back behind the wheel on the fearsome Nordschleife as early as April 18 and 19, during the qualifying races preceding the main event.
Initially already committed to the German endurance classic, the Red Bull Racing driver has decided to move up his return to this legendary track in order to gain more experience.
A first victory… cancelled
Last month, Verstappen had already caused a sensation during his first appearance on the Nordschleife. The Dutchman had crossed the line in the lead, immediately demonstrating his ability to adapt to this demanding circuit.
But this victory was ultimately not validated. Competing alongside Jules Gounon and Dani Juncadella, the crew was disqualified following an infraction related to the use of tires.
A frustrating setback, but one that clearly hasn’t dampened the motivation of the world champion.

A favorable schedule for Verstappen
This early return is made possible by a favorable set of circumstances. The cancellation of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, initially scheduled for the same weekend, opens up an ideal window in the driver’s schedule.
Verstappen will be accompanied by Lucas Auer this time for these runs, with the clear objective of fine-tuning the settings and increasing his mastery of a circuit renowned as one of the most difficult in the world.
This new stint on the Nordschleife is part of a broader preparation already underway. Just a few days after the Japanese Grand Prix, Verstappen had been spotted putting in laps on the German track.
An involvement that speaks volumes about his seriousness and his ambition in this discipline. Accustomed to success in Formula 1, the Dutchman now seems determined to shine in endurance racing as well.
With several sessions planned before the big event, Verstappen is already positioning himself as a competitor to watch closely for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
