Arriving at Ferrari in 2019, Charles Leclerc continues to chase a childhood dream: bringing the title back to Maranello. Despite frustrations and years without a crown, the Monegasque remains deeply attached to his team.

Asked about his relationship with Ferrari, Leclerc left no doubt about his mindset. Despite the absence of a title since his arrival, his attachment remains intact.

“Ferrari is a family and a team that I have always loved and dreamed of racing for since I was a child. And that hasn’t changed since I joined the team in 2019” he explains.

An almost emotional bond, strengthened by his journey within the Ferrari pathway, which he joined very young before climbing all the ranks up to Formula 1.

A wait that is starting to weigh

Despite eight Grand Prix wins, Leclerc has still not managed to bring Ferrari back to the top. The Italian team has not won any title since 2008 in constructors, and 2007 on the drivers’ side with Kimi Räikkönen.

This drought is inevitably starting to weigh, even if the motivation remains intact.

“Of course, there is always the will to win, and we want to win. We have been working for many years now to get back to the top” he adds.

Hope is reborn in 2026

Despite everything, positive signs are emerging this season. Ferrari seems to have a competitive car, capable of playing leading roles behind Mercedes at the start of the year. Leclerc wants to believe more than ever.

“We have taken a step forward this year, even if we are not yet where we want to be. We will continue to push in this direction” he continues.

“I hope our moment will come soon. It’s been a long time now… I give everything, and I hope it will happen this year or as soon as possible.”

Between loyalty, passion, and ambition, Leclerc embodies the Ferrari DNA more than ever. It remains to be seen if this love story will finally end with the long-awaited crown.
