George Russell will start on pole position for the Sprint at Zandvoort ahead of Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc. Max Verstappen will start sixth ahead of Lewis Hamilton.

George Russell secured pole position for the Sprint of the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver set the fastest time in the sprint qualifying at 1’11″567, after a particularly tight session at the front.
The Briton will share the front row with Lando Norris. The McLaren driver missed pole position by only 41 thousandths and will therefore have a great opportunity to attack Russell right from the start.
Charles Leclerc will occupy third place on the grid. The Monegasque conceded only 55 thousandths to the best time and will share the second row with Oscar Piastri.
Verstappen only sixth, Hamilton seventh
Kimi Antonelli completes the top 5 with the second Mercedes. The championship leader therefore failed to join Russell on the first two rows.

In front of his home crowd, Max Verstappen will have to settle for sixth position. The Red Bull driver finished more than half a second behind Russell and never seemed completely comfortable with the balance and grip of his RB22.
Lewis Hamilton will start just behind him, in seventh position. The Briton had finished fourth in free practice but lost competitiveness after some setup changes on his Ferrari.
Pierre Gasly, Gabriel Bortoleto and Arvid Lindblad complete the top 10.
Liam Lawson, who replaces Isack Hadjar at Red Bull this weekend, will start 11th after his elimination in SQ2. He will be ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, called up by Racing Bulls to replace in turn the New Zealander.
