The future of Isack Hadjar at Red Bull seems to be clearing up a bit more.
Without officially announcing the composition of its team for 2027, the team director, Laurent Mekies, has made numerous praiseworthy statements about the French driver, who has had an excellent start to the season.
Arriving this year alongside Max Verstappen, Hadjar quickly established himself as a key element of the team. In Hungary, he recorded a seventh consecutive Top 6, a consistency that Red Bull had not seen for several seasons with its second driver.
“It’s good news to finally have a second performing driver, which hadn’t happened for quite a long time.”
A goal achieved for Red Bull
For several years, Red Bull struggled to find a teammate capable of effectively supporting Max Verstappen.
Several drivers have succeeded one another without managing to settle durably or regularly score big points.
According to Laurent Mekies, the situation is now very different.
“It was also one of our goals before the start of the season. Isack is solid, he is constantly improving and he learns a lot from both the team and Max.”
The Frenchman’s performances also allow Red Bull to have two cars regularly at the front.
An extension that seems to be taking shape
Although Red Bull has not yet officially announced its team composition for 2027, Mekies’ remarks leave little room for doubt.

The French executive believes Hadjar is doing the expected work and suggests that the future will follow continuity.
“It’s also good news for Max that our two cars are now much closer in performance.”
Then he adds, in a sentence that strongly resembles a hint about the Frenchman’s future:
“We haven’t discussed the future yet, but everyone can see that Isack is doing an excellent job. So we will make a logical decision.”
The Verstappen file remains open
While the trend seems very favorable to keeping Isack Hadjar, one unknown remains within the Austrian team: the future of Max Verstappen.
The four-time world champion is still under contract with Red Bull, but speculation about his future continues to fuel the paddock.
While waiting to definitively clarify the situation of the Dutchman, Hadjar’s performances at least offer Red Bull a certainty: the Frenchman has established himself as a natural candidate to keep his seat in 2027, to the point that Laurent Mekies now speaks of a “logical decision” for the future.
