Lewis Hamilton’s resurgence at Ferrari is confirmed. After just ten Grands Prix contested in 2026, the Briton has already scored more points than during his entire first season with the Scuderia.
A statistic that perfectly illustrates the change in dimension achieved by Ferrari since the new technical regulations came into force.
A 2025 season to forget
Last year will remain the most complicated of the seven-time world champion’s career.
For the first time in Formula 1, Hamilton had not achieved a single Grand Prix podium. His best results were limited to four fourth places, even though he had won the Chinese sprint race and finished third in Miami’s.
Struggling with the SF-25, the Briton had made numerous worrying statements.
After qualifying 12th in Hungary, he even called himself “useless” before suggesting that Ferrari might need to recruit another driver.
A few months later, in Las Vegas, he recorded the first last-place qualification of his career based solely on performance.
New rules changed everything
The arrival of the 2026 regulations completely reshuffled the cards.
Hamilton quickly regained competitiveness by securing his first podium with Ferrari thanks to a third place in China.

Since then, results have followed with two second places in Canada and Monaco, a third position at Silverstone, and above all, a highly anticipated victory in Barcelona, his first since the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix.
A symbolic milestone already reached
Despite a complicated weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, which ended in fourth place, Hamilton added 12 points to his tally.
He now totals 159 points, already more than the 156 units scored over the entire 2025 season, contested over 24 Grands Prix and six sprint races.
This time, he only needed ten Grands Prix and four sprints to surpass that total.
Thanks to this performance, Hamilton now holds second place in the world championship.
Over 5,177 points in Formula 1
Beyond this statistic, Hamilton continues to expand an already exceptional record. After the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, he now totals 5,177.5 points scored in Formula 1.
The half-point that appears in this total comes from the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix, contested in torrential rain. The race was interrupted after only a few laps behind the safety car, which led to the awarding of half points. Classified third, Hamilton had then scored 7.5 points.
