George Russell won in China, while his teammate Kimi Antonelli shone with two successes and the championship lead. Together, they also secured several front rows, confirming the current superiority of the single-seater.

Revenge after difficult years

Between a new chassis and an optimized power unit, the team seems to have found the right formula, where it had failed in recent years.
Beyond performance, it’s also the mindset that has changed. Russell insists on the positive dynamic within the team.
“We have an excellent package and I feel confident,” he explains, despite a more complicated race in Japan. For him, the essential is elsewhere: the consistency and overall potential of the car.
This collective confidence is reinforced by the desire to return to the top after a frustrating period.
A warning for the entire grid
Russell’s speech sounds like a direct message to the competition. Mercedes does not simply intend to play a leading role… but to dominate.
“This desire to bring Mercedes back to the top has really pushed us,” he affirms. A statement that reflects an assumed ambition.
In a season that is still long, nothing is decided. But with such a start and a single-seater perfectly aligned with the rules, Mercedes seems to have all the cards in hand to set its pace. And for its rivals, the message is clear: they will have to raise their game… or suffer.
