This meeting, bringing together the FIA as well as technical experts from the teams and engine manufacturers, addressed a wide range of topics as part of the natural evolution of the 2026 technical and sporting regulations.

It was generally recognized that, despite races already held being deemed spectacular, a common desire existed to make adjustments to certain aspects of the regulations, particularly regarding energy management.

Consensus on changes

The exchanges were constructive, including on complex topics, despite the highly competitive nature of the stakeholders. It had been agreed at the beginning of the year by all parties that this series of meetings would be held after the first three races of the 2026 season, in order to have enough technical data to inform the discussions.

As part of this collaborative process, further meetings are planned over the next two weeks. A meeting dedicated to the sporting regulations will take place on April 15, during which potential changes to Section B — necessary to accompany technical developments — will be examined.

A new technical session is scheduled for April 16 to delve deeper into the points addressed today and introduce new topics. Adjustments to the regulations and the impacts on the conduct of races should be evaluated to guide the authorities in the right direction.

Summit meeting

Finally, a high-level meeting, bringing together all stakeholders, is scheduled for April 20. It should allow for the study of preferred solutions proposed jointly by the technical teams and the search for a consensus on the way forward.

The 2026 regulations were developed and validated in close collaboration between the teams, manufacturers, engine suppliers, the commercial rights holder, and the FIA. It is in this same spirit of cooperation that potential developments are being discussed today.

Any modification to the regulations will remain subject, as usual, to the approval process of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
