Christian Horner still intrigues

Disappeared from the F1 paddocks since his spectacular departure, Christian Horner resurfaces… and is already casting doubt on his future.

After more than twenty years at the helm of Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner had left the scene in the heart of the 2025 season, leaving behind an immense void in the paddock. Since then, speculation about his future has never really ceased, oscillating between a return to Formula 1 and new challenges elsewhere.

His notable presence during a MotoGP weekend in Jerez only fueled these rumors further. Invited by the organizers, Horner took advantage of this public appearance to observe a world he had never really had time to explore during his F1 career.

A door ajar?

“I simply came to learn a little more, now that I have time, and to explore other forms of motorsport that I couldn’t discover before. What I see pleases me, but there will always be speculation,” Horner confides.

A statement far from trivial. Without confirming any concrete project, the former Red Bull boss clearly implies that he is keeping an open mind. In a context where bridges between disciplines are multiplying, his interest in MotoGP could well go beyond simple curiosity.

“I have a bit of time on my hands, and the people from MotoGP as well as those from Liberty Media kindly invited me to come and see how it works. I’ve always been a fan. The last time I was at a MotoGP race was in Estoril in 2005. It’s great to see how the sport is evolving today, with this enthusiasm around the teams and riders,” he continues.

F1, MotoGP or new project: a future still unclear

This return to a paddock, even one different from F1, marks a turning point for Horner. Accustomed to a frantic pace for two decades, he is now discovering a new perspective, more detached… but potentially full of opportunities.

While rumors suggest a possible return to Formula 1, particularly through a project with Alpine F1 Team, nothing has been finalized yet. This media appearance primarily shows that Christian Horner is taking his time to consider his next steps, without rushing.

One thing is certain: with his experience, network, and influence, his return — whatever form it takes — will not go unnoticed. And given his statements, he seems already ready to write a new chapter… elsewhere or once again at the pinnacle of F1.
