Milan will host “F1 Live” next February to kick off the 2027 season in style

Milan will host

Formula 1 will invest Milan from February 18 to 20, 2027 for an unprecedented event called “F1 Live Milan”, inspired by the success of “F1 75 Live” held in London in 2025, to present the championship.

F1 announces a huge three-day event in Milan: this new event will span three days and will notably include an evening gathering the drivers and team principals of the 11 teams on the grid.

The goal is to offer an even more ambitious and immersive experience than F1 75 Live, held at the O2 in London in 2025 (photo above). This evening was broadcast in 37 territories and attracted 7.5 million live viewers. This time, F1 is scaling up from a single evening to a program spread over three days.

After London, heading to Milan

F1 Live Milan will be organized around two main experiences. The “Milan Fan Festival” will take place throughout the three days, from February 18 to 20. Formula 1 promises to transform an iconic location in the city into a true destination dedicated to the sport, in a format inspired by fan festivals organized around certain Grands Prix.

The second highlight, called “F1 The Show”, will take place only on February 18, 2027. This evening will bring together the drivers and team principals of the 11 Formula 1 teams, along with artists and various entertainment. F1 promises a show blending sport, music, and entertainment.

The choice of Milan is obviously not random. The city is globally recognized for its culture, creativity, and design, while being close to Monza and one of the most historic circuits in Formula 1. The Lombard capital will thus symbolically take over from London after the success of F1 75 Live.

Domenicali wants to bring F1 closer to the fans

For Stefano Domenicali, this new format fits within Formula 1’s desire to offer spectators experiences beyond Grand Prix weekends.

“We always think big and constantly seek to push the limits. F1 Live Milan will be an incredible experience, designed around our fans,” explains the president and CEO of Formula 1. We want them to feel not just like they are watching the sport, but truly immersed in it. This is an important part of our ongoing ambition to bring Formula 1 closer than ever to its fans, giving them the chance to see their heroes up close and feel the energy, innovation, and emotions that make Formula 1 so unique.”

Domenicali nevertheless assures that this multiplication of events around the sport will not change its DNA: “As F1 continues to reach new audiences around the world, racing will always remain our soul. But we also want to create unforgettable experiences that bring the excitement of Formula 1 to life on an even larger scale and continue to explore what is possible.”

Three days of celebration before the start of the 2027 season

The Italian also expects a special atmosphere in his home country: “Building on the extraordinary success of F1 75 in London, F1 Live Milan will transform the city into a Formula 1 festival for three unforgettable days, bringing together people from around the world to celebrate everything they love about our sport. I know my fellow Italians will give a fantastic welcome to the fans attending F1 Live Milan and I look forward to seeing the city come alive to the rhythm of Formula 1.”

The event will take place just before the start of the 2027 season. The detailed program of the Milan Fan Festival, as well as the artists and entertainment planned for F1 The Show, will be announced in the coming months.

Ticket sales will open later in the year, while a pre-registration system will also be offered. F1 finally plans a wide broadcast of the event to allow fans who cannot attend Milan to follow the festivities remotely.
