More than twelve years after his serious skiing accident on December 29, 2013, in Méribel, Michael Schumacher’s health condition remains shrouded in the greatest secrecy preserved by his family.

Since then, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion has lived away from the public eye, protected by his family, which regularly fuels speculation.
In recent weeks, former F1 driver Christian Danner has mentioned rumors that Schumacher is continuing his recovery in a family property in Mallorca.
With family in Mallorca?
However, he admitted to having received no confirmation: “There are all these rumors that he is in Mallorca. When I talk to Corinna about it, she does not mention it. And when I talk to other people who might be aware, they tell me nothing.”
The Schumacher family indeed continues to maintain absolute discretion. In the documentary Schumacher, Corinna Schumacher explained this choice: “We are together. We live together at home. We follow a therapy. We do everything possible to make Michael better and comfortable. Private life is private, as he always said. Michael always protected us and now, it is us who protect Michael.”
Several British media recently claimed that Michael Schumacher lives with severe neurological sequelae, that he moves in a wheelchair, and benefits from permanent medical assistance.

Information impossible to verify
According to these same sources, very few people would be allowed to visit him and he would depend on a caregiving team present 24 hours a day.
A testimony cited by the British press also states: “It seems that he understands part of what is happening around him, but probably not everything.”
However, these claims have never been confirmed by the Schumacher family nor by his medical entourage. In the absence of official communication, it is therefore impossible to verify their accuracy. To date, the only certainty is that the family continues to strictly preserve Michael Schumacher’s private life, in accordance with the wish he himself expressed before his accident.
Meanwhile, life goes on: his daughter Gina Maria got married last summer and his son Mick now races in the IndyCar championship in the USA. He will start the Portland Grand Prix this weekend hoping to continue his momentum from Nashville where he finished eighth.
