After four rounds, Cadillac occupies the last place in the constructors’ championship, engaged in a direct battle with Aston Martin at the back of the grid.

The best result for the American team so far remains a 13th place achieved by Valtteri Bottas in China, symbolizing a project still in the building phase.

Despite this difficult start, the Finn presents a very calm and clear-headed view of his team’s situation. He notably recalls that he was fully aware of the difficulties when joining Cadillac for this F1 return.

Bottas refuses any frustration

Asked about any possible frustration regarding these results, the driver with ten Grand Prix wins was very clear: there is no room for disappointment in this context.

“There is no frustration, this is exactly what I signed up for” explained Bottas.

The Finn emphasizes that the Cadillac project is a rebuilding effort, with visible but still irregular progress.

According to him, some recent upgrades have shown positive effects, even if all the parts do not yet work optimally together.

A clearly identified weak point

Beyond the overall assessment, Bottas especially highlighted a specific weakness of the MAC-26 car. The team particularly struggles in high and medium speed corners, a key area in modern Formula 1.

“Our weakness is high and medium speed corners”, he admitted.

A problem that partly explains the difficulties encountered on the fast circuits at the start of the season.

Montreal as a chance to bounce back

The Canadian Grand Prix could however offer a more favorable opportunity for Cadillac. The Montreal track, mainly composed of slow to medium speed corners, better suits the current strengths of the car.

Bottas therefore hopes that this circuit profile will allow the team to get closer to the pack and aim for more competitive positions.

For Cadillac, the goal remains clear above all: to progress step by step, without rushing, even if results are still slow to come.
