The encrypted channel begins broadcasting, starting tonight with the first F1 Grand Prix of the 2026 season (at 21h10), two of the four 45-minute episodes of the docu-series soberly titled “Enzo”. The other two are scheduled for next Sunday at the same time.

Directed by Yannick Saillet with the help of our colleague Thierry Soave, it looks back at the exceptional journey of a passionate man who gave motor racing a unique dimension and contains numerous interviews and testimonials.

Episode 1: when Enzo becomes Ferrari

In 1908, at only ten years old, Enzo Ferrari attended a motor race in Bologna. This founding moment marked the beginning of a fascination that would eventually transform the history of the automobile. As an adult, Ferrari forged a reputation as an uncompromising leader, guided by an obsessive vision of performance.

With the creation of Ferrari, he imposed a unique philosophy: cars designed primarily for competition, then adapted for the road. The Ferrari V12 engine quickly became the brand’s emblem, embodying power, mechanical refinement, and prestige. This V12 would help make Ferraris mythical machines, as formidable in racing as they were desired on the road.

Episode 2: the red and the black

Enzo Ferrari’s trajectory was, however, marked by tragedies. One of the most significant occurred during the Mille Miglia 1957, when a terrible accident involving a Ferrari caused the death of the driver and several spectators, as filmmaker Michael Mann masterfully showed in his feature film Ferrari. This tragedy pushed Enzo Ferrari to pay more attention to safety issues in the design of his racing cars.

In the early 1960s, Ferrari also narrowly avoided falling under American control during negotiations with Ford Motor Company. The spectacular failure of this takeover created a rivalry that would lead notably to the famous duel at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the following years, the subject of another Hollywood film titled Le Mans ’66 (or Ford vs Ferrari in the English version).

At the same time, Ferrari discovered a new unexpected rival: Ferruccio Lamborghini. Initially a tractor manufacturer, he decided to launch his own sports cars after a dispute with Enzo Ferrari. He then founded Lamborghini, giving birth to one of the most iconic rivalries in automotive history.
