Anthony Hamilton's HybridV10 project reveals a first glimpse

The HybridV10 project led by Lewis Hamilton continues to take shape: the father of the seven-time world champion shared on social media a digital illustration of the future prototype.

By offering the first concrete glimpse of what the flagship car of this new discipline could look like, Hamilton Sr. nevertheless specified that this was not the final model, but an AI-generated representation intended to illustrate the direction currently being explored by the engineers.

This image nevertheless constitutes the clearest indication to date of the concept that could be driven by competitors in this future world championship, unveiled earlier this year and centered around single-seaters powered by hybrid V10 engines.

Aerodynamic development is underway

According to Hamilton, the project has now entered a more technical phase, with significant work on digital simulation aimed at validating the aerodynamic performance of the future car.

“HybridV10 is currently progressing through the CFD development phases, and the first results are extremely encouraging,” explained the Briton. At this stage, the real work concerns engineering: aerodynamics, performance validation, and the overall concept of the car. But CFD simulations are not always the most captivating elements to show the public.”

It is with this in mind that this virtual representation was created: “This image was generated using artificial intelligence to bring to life this development direction and to offer fans, partners, and the motorsport world a first glimpse of what HybridV10 is becoming.”

A philosophy centered on the driver

This update comes just a few days after the confirmation of the completion of the initial design phase of the project. The technical teams are now focusing on aerodynamic analysis and the overall performance of the future chassis.

Since the announcement of the championship, Hamilton has insisted that the goal is not limited to simply bringing back high-displacement engines. His ambition is to create a discipline where spectacle and driving take center stage: “No gadgets. No DRS. A race designed primarily for the drivers,” he recalled.

The champion’s father states he wants to build a series based on several essential principles: ” HybridV10 is developed from a clean slate, with a clear idea of what high-level motorsport should be. The quality of racing, the sound of the engines, the connection with the fans, the driver’s influence on performance, and the spectacle of competition are at the heart of the project. “

A launch targeted for 2028 or 2029

Officially presented last January, the HybridV10 concept aims to become a new world championship with a premier category equipped with hybrid V10 engines. The promoters also envision the creation of a secondary category based on V8 powertrains, intended to broaden opportunities for drivers and teams.

The provisional schedule targets a launch between 2028 and 2029. The organizers want to offer a platform with controlled costs while providing an alternative to the current major championships, with more spectacular cars, more focused on driving and the spectator experience.

Although many steps remain before seeing the first cars hit the track, the project now seems to be entering a concrete development phase, marked by the first technical and aerodynamic validations.
