Charles Leclerc will indeed be able to participate in the first Spanish Grand Prix held in Madrid this weekend. The Ferrari driver underwent additional medical examinations after his violent accident in Monza and was declared fit to take the wheel of his SF-26 again.

The uncertainty surrounding Charles Leclerc’s participation in the upcoming Grand Prix is now lifted.
The Monegasque has received the necessary medical clearance to normally take part in the Madrid weekend. This confirmation comes after his significant accident during the Italian Grand Prix.
Additional examinations after Monza
Leclerc lost control of his Ferrari exiting the Parabolica at the end of the second lap, before crashing at high speed into the barriers. The condition of his car and the damage caused to the barriers required the race to be stopped with a red flag. The Ferrari driver was nevertheless able to exit his car alone before going to the circuit’s medical center.
The initial checks carried out on site revealed no injuries. Given the severity of the impact, Ferrari and the doctors had planned additional examinations before definitively confirming his participation in the next Grand Prix.
Leclerc therefore had to wait for the results of these checks before being officially considered sufficiently recovered to take the wheel again. These examinations ultimately proved reassuring and the Monegasque was declared fit to race in Madrid.

Good news for Ferrari after a particularly disappointing Italian Grand Prix. Leclerc was eliminated early in the race, moments after a heated battle with his teammate Lewis Hamilton in the first two corners.
Leclerc will be present for the Madring debut
The Scuderia must now quickly turn the page on its home weekend before tackling a completely new event on a track it discovered during a test day for promotional filming in August.
Madrid will indeed host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix on the Madring. The new circuit already raises many questions, notably due to its spectacular banked corner and the significant challenges it is expected to impose on drivers and cars.
Ferrari will at least be able to face this new challenge with its usual duo: despite the severity of his accident in Monza, Leclerc suffered no injuries preventing him from racing and has now received medical clearance to participate in the Madrid Grand Prix.
