Franco Colapinto, Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson received penalty points on their Super Licence after several infractions under yellow flag during a particularly eventful Dutch Grand Prix.

The race stewards had their work cut out after the Dutch Grand Prix. Following a race notably marked by Max Verstappen’s violent accident on the first lap, three drivers saw their Super Licence burdened with penalty points.
Franco Colapinto, Arvid Lindblad and Liam Lawson were all penalized for infractions committed under yellow flag conditions at Zandvoort.
The most significant consequences concern Colapinto, penalized twice during the same race and now holding four penalty points over the last twelve months.
Colapinto penalized twice
Colapinto’s first infraction occurred on the first lap, immediately after Verstappen’s impressive accident in the last corner.
The Red Bull driver had lost control of his RB22 on a still wet section before violently hitting the wall. Numerous debris were then scattered on the track and yellow flags were deployed.
Despite this situation, Colapinto overtook Yuki Tsunoda under yellow flag at turn 14. The stewards handed him a drive-through penalty as well as two penalty points on his Super Licence.
This penalty initially brought his total to three points over a twelve-month period.
But the Alpine driver was not done with the stewards yet.
A second infraction for the Alpine driver
Later in the race, a new yellow flag situation was caused by Esteban Ocon’s Haas stopping at turn 3.
This time, Colapinto was not accused of overtaking, but of not slowing down sufficiently under yellow flags.

An infraction that earned him another penalty, with an additional penalty point on his Super Licence. His tally now rises to four points over the last twelve months.
The Argentine ultimately finished the Dutch Grand Prix in 14th place.
Lindblad overtakes Gasly under yellow flag
Arvid Lindblad found himself in a similar situation to Colapinto on the first lap.
The Racing Bulls driver overtook Pierre Gasly while yellow flags were displayed following Verstappen’s accident. Like Colapinto, he received a drive-through penalty during the race.
The stewards also added two penalty points to his Super Licence. These are the first two penalty points of his Formula 1 career.
Despite this, Lindblad managed to finish the race in 12th place.
Lawson loses big at the end of the race
Liam Lawson is the third driver penalized. Unlike Colapinto and Lindblad, his infraction is not related to Verstappen’s accident but to Ocon’s stoppage at turn 3 later in the race.
The stewards judged that the Red Bull driver did not slow down sufficiently under yellow flag.
Lawson received a ten-second penalty as well as a penalty point on his Super Licence.
However, this penalty did not prevent the New Zealander from maintaining seventh place at the finish, thus concluding on a positive note his return to Red Bull replacing Isack Hadjar.
In total, the stewards handed out five penalty points to three drivers after this particularly turbulent race: three for Colapinto, two for Lindblad, and one for Lawson.
