In the global top 10
According to the ranking established by Forbes, Hamilton would have an estimated fortune of 586 million dollars. Fernando Alonso would come far behind with about 260 million, ahead of Max Verstappen and his 210 million. Charles Leclerc would follow with 125 million, while Lando Norris would be around 60 million.
The estimate concerning Hamilton comes notably from the Sunday Times Rich List 2026, which values his fortune at 435 million pounds sterling. Its conversion into dollars naturally varies according to the exchange rate used.
But wealth should not be confused with annual income. In this area as well, Hamilton remains particularly well placed. Forbes estimates that he earned about 100 million dollars in the twelve months preceding May 2026, which places him among the ten highest-paid athletes in the world.
Hamilton, a brand that far exceeds F1
His contract with Ferrari naturally represents a significant part of these revenues. Although official figures have never been disclosed, his annual remuneration linked to the Scuderia is estimated around 70 million dollars. But the main difference with many of his rivals lies in the commercial power that Hamilton has developed outside the circuits.
The seven-time world champion has been multiplying collaborations in fashion for several years and owns various investments. He is notably an ambassador for Dior (photo above) and Lululemon and is simultaneously developing his activities in the film industry through his company Dawn Apollo Films.
After his involvement as producer and consultant on F1 The Movie, Hamilton wishes to continue in this direction with several projects of films, documentaries, animations, and series.
Verstappen better paid for driving
Max Verstappen is a different case. The Dutchman would have a Red Bull contract valued around 76 million dollars annually, bonuses included, but his fortune would be estimated at about 210 million.

The gap with Hamilton is explained notably by the longevity of their careers. The Briton has been competing in Formula 1 since 2007, compared to 2015 for Verstappen. Eight additional seasons spent among the highest-paid drivers in the world obviously represent a considerable difference.
Fernando Alonso also benefits from his exceptional longevity. His fortune would be estimated at 260 million dollars, which would place him ahead of Verstappen. Since his debut in F1, the Spaniard has benefited from significant contracts with Renault, McLaren, Ferrari, Alpine, then Aston Martin, while developing his own activities.
A new generation that is getting rich quickly
Behind this trio, the gap becomes significant. Charles Leclerc would have a fortune of about 125 million dollars, while Norris’s would generally be estimated around 60 million. The 2025 world champion has however seen his income explode thanks to his results. Forbes estimated his earnings for the year at 57.5 million dollars, including only 18 million fixed salary but nearly 40 million bonuses.
Oscar Piastri follows a similar trajectory. His 2025 income was estimated at 37.5 million dollars, including 27.5 million bonuses, while his fortune would now be close to 50 million. Lance Stroll would also be around 50 million dollars in personal fortune, without obviously taking into account the fortune of his father Lawrence Stroll, billionaire and owner of the Aston Martin team.
All these figures must nevertheless be considered with caution. Teams generally do not publish their drivers’ salaries, advertising contracts remain confidential, and investments or stakes in private companies are difficult to value precisely.
Estimates impossible to certify
These are therefore estimates and not certified fortunes. The general trend seems nevertheless hardly contestable: Hamilton remains financially in a different dimension than the rest of the grid.
Two decades of very high salaries, to which are added his advertising contracts and his numerous commercial activities, have allowed him to transform his image into a true global brand.
Approaching 20 years of presence in Formula 1, number 44 is thus no longer just one of the most decorated drivers in history: he has also become one of the most commercially powerful athletes of his generation.
