The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is hosting this weekend the fifth round of the 2026 Formula 1 season.
The Canadian track is known for its changing weather conditions, with legendary races such as the 2011 edition, interrupted for several hours, or sessions disrupted by hail in 2024.
This year again, the weather could play a major role in the course of the weekend.
Friday and Saturday under control
Free practice and the first qualifying sessions should take place in ideal conditions.
No rain is expected on Friday, with temperatures around 19°C and a moderate northwest wind.

Saturday also looks calm, with only a 1% chance of rain, stable temperatures, and a light breeze. The teams should therefore be able to work without disruption during the sprint race and qualifying.
Sunday under heavy threat of rain
The real danger appears for the main race. The probability of rain rises to 60%, with slightly cooler temperatures around 17°C and a stronger wind.
In an environment like Montreal, located on an island in the Saint Lawrence River, conditions can change very quickly and surprise the teams.
With such a risk of rain, teams will need to keep wet tires at hand throughout the race. The weather could create a completely open strategic scenario, where pit stops, timing of tire changes, and safety cars could play a decisive role.
One thing is certain: if the rain arrives, the Canadian Grand Prix could once again offer a chaotic scenario worthy of its reputation.
