Lewis Hamilton continues to develop his projects outside of Formula 1.
His charity Mission 44 has been named an official partner of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the most prestigious motorsport events in the world.
Created by the seven-time world champion, Mission 44 aims to build a more inclusive future by helping young people access education, STEM fields, and careers in motorsport.
A unique immersion for 60 young people
As part of this partnership, Mission 44 will take 60 young people to the Festival of Speed to introduce them to the behind-the-scenes of motorsport and the professional opportunities it can offer.
The goal is to allow young people sometimes distant from these environments to meet professionals and explore careers related to technology, engineering, or competition.
The founder of the Festival of Speed, the Duke of Richmond, praised the importance of the work done by Hamilton’s organization.
“The Festival of Speed has always sought to inspire the new generation,” he explains.
“An absolutely essential work”
The Duke of Richmond believes that Mission 44 plays a major role in fighting the social barriers still present in these sectors.
“We are proud to support Mission 44 in its desire to break down the significant obstacles that still exist today for many young people.”

He also hopes that festival visitors will become aware of the importance of this approach.
“I hope visitors will appreciate discovering the organization as part of this effort to build a fairer and more inclusive future.”
Mission 44 wants to open the doors of motorsport
The CEO of Mission 44, Jason Arthur, recalled that talent exists everywhere, but opportunities remain very unequal.
“Talent is everywhere, but opportunities are not, and that is what drives our work at Mission 44.”
He emphasizes the importance of giving young people a first access to these often hard-to-reach industries.
“Every young person deserves the chance to take their first steps towards a future in STEM and motorsport, where access has too often been limited.”
During the festival, visitors will be able to discover the work of Mission 44 in the new Fan Zone, with several conferences and discussions organized throughout the weekend.
