After attending the Monaco E-Prix last weekend, Lando Norris openly admitted that a test in Formula E is now clearly among his desires with the arrival of the GEN4.

And hearing the current Formula 1 world champion, his interest in the electric discipline seems very real.
Before heading to Montreal, Norris spent his Sunday in the Formula E paddock watching the races and chatting with many drivers he has known for a long time.
Genuine enthusiasm
But far from the usual polite compliments often exchanged between rival categories, the McLaren driver seemed genuinely impressed by what he discovered.
“This is the first Formula E race I have attended and I am really enthusiastic,” he said while walking the grid alongside David Coulthard and Karun Chandhok. There are many drivers I know here and the races are always incredible to watch: there is chaos, incidents, unpredictability… everything we love about motorsport.”
“I grew up with many of these drivers or raced against them. The driving level here is extremely high, it’s the best there is,” he sportingly acknowledged. You are watching a category made up of top-level athletes, among the best in the world. It’s something I enjoy watching and would like to be part of.”

Eager to test
This last sentence did not go unnoticed. Because Norris did not just praise Formula E from the stands: he clearly hinted that he would like to one day get behind the wheel of an electric single-seater. The Brit even revealed he has already talked with several championship drivers, notably Jake Dennis, about a possible test.
“I had planned to drive a Formula E at some point. I talked about it with Jake and several other drivers who race here,” Norris explained. Not everything translates directly between Formula 1 and Formula E, but there are always things to learn by talking with drivers who compete at the top of this category.”
The idea of seeing Norris try a Formula E would represent one of the most significant bridges between the two disciplines in recent years. The McLaren driver was not the only familiar F1 face present in the Monaco paddock: Carlos Sainz, Gabriel Bortoleto, and Christian Horner also made notable appearances during the weekend.
But unlike mere passing visitors, Norris seems to have left Monaco with a new idea in mind: to experience the unique sensations of Formula E himself. And now, fans of the discipline are eagerly waiting to see when the F1 world champion will actually switch to electric.
