The Miami Grand Prix weekend has so far proceeded without major incident, despite particularly challenging conditions for drivers and teams. Temperatures exceeded 30°C on Friday and Saturday, creating a heavy atmosphere that was physically difficult to manage.
However, this Sunday could mark a turning point. Forecasts predict slightly cooler temperatures, around 24 to 26°C, but above all an increased risk of precipitation. This change could completely transform the racing conditions on the Miami street circuit.
The FIA anticipates the arrival of storms
Faced with this threat, the FIA has decided to take proactive measures. Several storm cells are indeed approaching, with a significant potential to disrupt the event.
Organizers closely monitored the weather situation throughout Saturday. Aware of the risk of schedule disruption, they decided to move the race start time forward.
“It was important to anticipate conditions to avoid any major interruption,” could summarize the logic adopted by the authorities, keen to ensure the smooth running of the event.
An earlier start to avoid the worst
The race will now start at 1:00 PM local time, or 7:00 PM in France. A strategic choice aimed at fitting the Grand Prix into a more favorable weather window.

According to the latest data, heavy rain should occur after the finish, if the timing holds. A situation that could help avoid the worst, although a shower during the race remains possible.
Forecasts suggest a two-phase scenario. A first phase of light precipitation was expected during the night and early morning. The second, more concerning phase should develop in the afternoon with heavier showers, accompanied by thunderstorms, possibly hail.
In this context, the choice of an earlier start appears coherent, even if it offers no absolute guarantee.
Total uncertainty until the start
As often in Florida, weather conditions remain unpredictable. Even though the probability of rain has slightly decreased, rapid changes remain possible.
Teams will therefore need to remain particularly vigilant and ready to adapt their strategy in real time. A rain-affected race could completely reshuffle the cards and offer an unpredictable spectacle until the checkered flag.
