After a difficult start to the season, Red Bull finally seems to see encouraging signs. The Milton Keynes team has confirmed the arrival of new upgrades on Max Verstappen’s car for the Canadian Grand Prix.
The first races of the 2026 season had highlighted several weaknesses of the RB22, notably in China and Japan, where Verstappen had difficulties fully exploiting the potential of his car.
The package introduced in Miami, however, allowed Red Bull to take a first positive step.
The four-time World Champion managed to qualify on the front row before climbing up to fifth place despite a spin in the early laps, marking his best result of the season.
Waché confirms new parts in Montreal
Red Bull’s technical director, the Frenchman Pierre Waché, confirmed that the team intends to continue developing the RB22 starting this weekend.
“Miami represented a clear step forward for us. The upgrade package brought encouraging performance gains and helped correct some important points of the car.”
The Frenchman nevertheless explains that these new parts also helped identify new areas for improvement.

The technical director finally believes that Red Bull will continue to improve its car during the upcoming European rounds.
“It was encouraging for the team to see the progress made on track after all the work done behind the scenes. We expect to continue developing the car as the European races approach.”
