According to several Spanish media outlets, his clothing brand Kimoa has definitively ceased its activities after years of financial difficulties.
Launched in 2017, the company was nevertheless one of the Spanish driver’s most ambitious personal projects.
Painful failure
Alonso wanted to make Kimoa a reference in the sustainable lifestyle world, to the point of regularly displaying the brand in the paddock and on his car during his time at McLaren. Despite promising beginnings, the company reportedly started facing serious problems as early as 2020.
In an attempt to save the project, Alonso agreed to sell a large part of his shares to the American company Revolution Brands. However, this revival never bore fruit. Over time, Kimoa’s activity gradually collapsed until it almost completely disappeared.
According to several Spanish sources, the company has now permanently closed, while the domain name of its website has been put up for sale.

Happiness with family
This bad news, however, comes during a much happier period personally for Alonso. At the end of March, the Spanish driver became a father for the first time with journalist Melissa Jiménez.
Very moved after the birth of his son Leonard, Alonso publicly shared his happiness: “Everything went well, fortunately, for the mother and the baby. I am very happy: it is an extraordinary moment, truly unique”, he told DAZN.
The Aston Martin driver also hinted that this new life as a father could influence his thinking about the future of his Formula 1 career: “I wouldn’t want to leave before he is in the paddock and can get into my car, those would be unforgettable moments”, he recently explained.
Despite the sporting difficulties faced by Aston Martin and the failure of this entrepreneurial project, Fernando Alonso continues to project a calm and forward-looking image.
