The Miami Grand Prix continues to reveal its behind-the-scenes. An unreleased video shows that Lewis Hamilton expressed his frustration very explicitly towards Franco Colapinto.
After a clash on the first lap, the Briton made a rude gesture to his rival as he overtook him a few moments later, clearly showing his annoyance.
A tough duel from the first lap
The incident happened approaching turn 11, one of the main overtaking points on the circuit. Hamilton was trying to pass Colapinto on the outside, but the Argentine resisted, leading to contact between the two cars.
This collision had immediate consequences on the Ferrari of the seven-time world champion, damaging its aerodynamics and compromising his race.
Following this clash, Hamilton had to cope with a compromised car. The damage caused a significant loss of downforce, estimated between 15 and 20 points, making any comeback particularly difficult.

This incident largely explains his lack of pace throughout the 57 laps of the race, in an already challenging Grand Prix for the Ferrari driver.
A limited result despite the circumstances
At the finish, Hamilton crossed the line in seventh position, before gaining a place thanks to the penalty given to his teammate Charles Leclerc. A modest result considering the team’s ambitions, but consistent given the damage suffered at the start of the race.
For his part, Franco Colapinto delivered a solid performance. Just behind Hamilton at the finish, he achieved the best result of his young Formula 1 career.
The Alpine driver notably got the better of his teammate Pierre Gasly over the whole weekend, helping to strengthen his team’s position in the championship.
This episode illustrates the intensity of battles on track, especially at the start of the race where every position is fought for by millimeters. Between frustration, contact, and gestures of mood, Miami once again offered a complete spectacle… right down to its never-before-seen images.
