The Miami Grand Prix will not be decided solely on the track. Several important decisions could be made after the finish, as five drivers are now under threat of an investigation by the stewards.
Among them, Alexander Albon, Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon will have to explain themselves for potential infractions under yellow flag conditions.
Incidents linked to the chaos of the 6th lap
These investigations originate from the events of the sixth lap, marked by two major accidents on the Miami International Autodrome circuit.
The first incident concerns Isack Hadjar, who suffered a crash after hitting the wall in a technical chicane, causing his immediate retirement.
At the same time, a spectacular collision between Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly completely disrupted the race. Gasly’s car flipped after the contact, although the Frenchman was able to get out uninjured.

Verstappen also under investigation
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen will also have to answer to the stewards after the race. The Dutchman is suspected of having crossed the white line at the pit exit during a stop made under safety car conditions.
This type of infraction is generally penalized systematically, which could have significant consequences on his final result.
Not all drivers waited until the end of the event to be penalized. Valtteri Bottas received a penalty during the race after being caught speeding in the pit lane. This infraction earned him a drive-through penalty, seriously compromising his chances of a result in Miami.
A classification still far from settled
With so many investigations ongoing, the final classification of the Miami Grand Prix remains uncertain. The stewards’ decisions could reshuffle the positions several hours after the checkered flag.
In a weekend already marked by chaos on track and difficult conditions, the tension therefore remains at its peak… even after the finish.
