Everything is working as expected on the Ferrari this weekend in Monaco: after achieving a one-two in Free Practice 1, the Maranello cars once again locked in the two best times during the second hour of running today.
This time, it was Lewis Hamilton who dominated Charles Leclerc by 0.111s.
Verstappen lurking
It was a close call against Max Verstappen’s Red Bull, the third man of this start to the weekend (+0.168). In contrast, the Mercedes concede a significant gap: George Russell is 0.379s behind while Kimi Antonelli concedes a full half-second (+0.503). However, the top five are the only ones within the same second, as Isack Hadjar, in sixth, is 1.061s behind Lewis Hamilton.
The Frenchman was able to return to the track after his accident in FP1 and did not fail to thank his mechanics on the radio, who worked tirelessly to repair the RB22 in two hours and thirty minutes. However, he was only able to complete 23 laps, 11 fewer than his teammate Max Verstappen and 12 fewer than the Ferraris.

McLaren struggling
On McLaren’s side, Oscar Piastri is a discreet seventh, while Lando Norris suffered a breakdown that forced him to stop at the side of the track at the exit of the New Chicane after only eight laps. Another mechanical issue affected Sergio Pérez’s Cadillac at the end of the session. The American car caught fire and caused a red flag after stopping at turn 4.
Finally, among the French drivers, Pierre Gasly is 11th and Esteban Ocon 17th, but only four tenths separate the two men. See you tomorrow at 12:30 PM for the last free practice session of the weekend before the highly anticipated qualifying, which will take place at 4 PM.
